Families Forward is proud to welcome Pascha A. Morgan as the new Shelter Manager for New Directions Shelter, a cornerstone of support for families with children experiencing homelessness in the Des Moines metro.
Pascha brings nearly two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, rooted in crisis response, community care, and justice-driven advocacy. His career has spanned the management of emergency shelters and national digital campaign support, always with a steadfast commitment to compassion, accountability, and people-centered practices.
“At Families Forward, we are committed to providing stability, dignity, and meaningful support to every family who comes through our doors,” said Suzanne Zutter, Executive Director of Families Forward. “Pascha brings deep experience and a grounded, compassionate leadership style that aligns with our mission. His presence strengthens our team and reinforces our long-term commitment to families in our community.”
In his role as Shelter Manager, Pascha will lead the day-to-day operations of New Directions Shelter, ensuring families receive housing and wraparound services designed to foster long-term stability.
“New Directions is more than a place to stay, it's where people get a moment to breathe, and I’m honored to join a space where support doesn’t come with strings—and where dignity is non-negotiable.”, Morgan said. "This work isn’t about fixing people—it’s about showing up, holding space, and making sure families have what they need to move forward.”
Families Forward looks forward to the lasting impact Pascha will make as part of the team. For more information about New Directions Shelter or any of the programs of Families Forward, visit www.familiesforward.org.
